neXgen’s purpose is to glorify God by coming along side parents and helping them fulfill Proverbs 22:6, “Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it.” It is our responsibility, as a church, to help the next generation become who God has created them to be, both as a whole and individually. We accomplish this by using Christ as our model and scripture as our map, providing a solid foundation were the youth of our church can be trained to be more like Christ, and confidently engage their culture for Him.
We see a youth ministry where –
* mentoring takes place (modeled by Paul and Timothy in 1 & 2 Timothy)
* friendships are cultivated (Acts 2:46)
* positive peer pressure takes place
* scripture is taught (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
* scripture is illustrated through drama, music and art
* accountability takes place (peer to peer)
* service and ministry take place (Eph. 4:16)
* missions are a priority (Matt. 28:19-20)
* needs are prayed for and praises are celebrated (Gal. 6:2)
* worship takes place through music, tithing and bible study (Psa. 95:6)
